Developing a 3D game engine that supports XR (Extended Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality) presents several challenges, including performance optimization, cross-platform compatibility, and user experience (UX) consistency. One of the critical issues is ensuring high performance and low latency to prevent motion sickness and provide a seamless experience across different VR hardware with varying capabilities. Our solution: Implement techniques like foveated rendering, which focuses rendering resources on the area where the user is looking, reducing the load on the GPU.
