1) Description of the Problem: • Search for new approaches in the development of human capital. • Competition on the labour market and the need to attract new employees (especially young people) to the company. • The need to strengthen and develop a culture of professionalism and a safe workplace. • The need to strengthen the system of practical training. • The need to strengthen the mentoring system. • The need to increase the importance and effectiveness of collaboration between teams and across functionalities. • Overcoming the tendency to minimize the development of practical skills (assessing current theoretical knowledge; competitive tasks are based on typical work functions).

Estimated duration of implementation

The Project is Implemented on an Ongoing Basis Project start – 2020 (nationwide regional stages). Inaugural Final – July 2023 (held in Yekaterinburg). 2024 – nationwide regionals (held concurrently). 2025 – Second International Russian Railways Professional Skills Championship Final. Participants from the CIS countries will be invited to compete.

Description of competitive advantages

Developing Unified Standards for Holding Professional Skills Competitions: - A regulatory framework has been created for the preparation and holding of competitions. Regulations for regional Professional Skills competitions, a Code of Ethics for the Championship, regulations for the regionals and finals, and competition documentation templates have been developed. Developing a Culture of Safety: - Competition tasks are designed in such a way that participants can work on things they are not used to in a controlled environment. - Competition tasks include exercises that encourage personal growth and non-standard cases.
