Hydrogen fuel cells energy system for drones
Devices with an electric motor and powered by rechargeable batteries have objective limitations on their range of use due to a significant increase in the mass of lithium-ion batteries with an increase in flight duration. The proposed implementation of hydrogen energy technologies in combination with an electric motor drive eliminates the shortcomings of battery systems, offering the remote monitoring drone market a new product with a unique combination of long-range and long-duration flight characteristics while maintaining the advantages of electric drones.

Drones and drone solutions
The project team has now developed world-class hydrogen fuel cell systems for use as power sources for drones. This development took about 7 years of work on materials and technologies.
The developed solutions are currently being applied in Russia with the possibility of expansion to the BRICS countries
One of the main energy sources currently used for drones is batteries. Modern batteries used in drones have a specific energy density of 150 to 250 Wh/kg. The proposed solutions based on ultra-light fuel cell energy sources can provide a specific energy density of 450 to 900 Wh/kg, which allows for a 2-6-fold increase in drone autonomy. Hydrogen fuel cell energy sources have a minimal harmful impact on the environment due to the use of hydrogen as a fuel. By increasing the autonomy time of drones, they can perform more tasks on a single charge.
