Problem and implemented solution

The BRICS Skills and Technology Standardization Working Committee (hereinafter referred to as the BRICS STSWC) was established by the BRICS Business Council Skills Development, Applied Technology and Innovation (hereinafter referred to as the BBC STIWG) on the basis of the framework to better promote the Common Declaration on Standards Regulatory Cooperation issued by the BRICS Business Council in 2017, and to implement the five Deliverables of the 2022 Annual Report on the China section of BBC STIWG. BRICS STSWC, as one of the five Deliverables, was reviewed by the BRICS Business Council at its annual meeting in June 2022, and was written into the annual report and presented to the leaders of the five countries, which was fully affirmed among the BRICS countries; during the 15th BRICS Leaders' Meeting (BRICS Summit in South Africa) in August 2023, the Charter of the BRICS Skills and Technology Standardization Working Committee (2022) (the Charter) was endorsed and approved by the Multinational BBC STIWG. The signing of the Charter was finalized in the presence of the Chairperson of the Multinational BBC STIWG, who agreed to its implementation. Established: The BRICS STSWC is a task force working on the standardization of future skills in the BRICS countries under the framework of the BBC STIWG and is responsible for coordinating and planning the development of curriculum and standards in the areas agreed upon by the BBC STIWG before. Established on 12/12/2022. Purpose: To implement the 2022 Deliverables of BBC STIWG “to set up a BRICS skills standardization working committee under the framework of the BBC STIWG, to develop vocational skills standards and issue skills certificates”, to develop organization skills standards that are jointly recognized by BRICS countries, to promote the harmonization of the standards, to practically develop courses on future skills, to solve the current skills To develop future skill courses, to solve the bottleneck of current skill training, and to jointly cultivate future skill talents in BRICS countries.

Competitive Advantages:The establishment of the BRICS Technical and Skills Standardization Working Committee will further consolidate and deepen the strategic partnership of BRICS countries in the global economy. Moreover, the committee will vigorously promote the cultivation of skilled talent within BRICS countries by developing unified skill training standards and facilitating the mutual recognition and interoperability of vocational education and training systems. This platform will become a crucial hub for knowledge sharing, skill training, and the exchange of best practices, advancing the unification and enhancement of global technology and skill standards. Effectiveness 1.Completion of the first draft of organization standards for 28 competitions of the 2022 BRICS Skills Competition 2. November 2023, release of BRICS Organization standards for Machine Learning and Big Data (competitions, skills, courses) 3. The standard project was launched in July,2023, and the kick-off meeting for the “Building Information Modeling” competition standard of the BRICS international organization standard was held on August 6th.At the beginning of November, a kick-off meeting was held for the vocational skills organization standard and a working group was set up to prepare it. 4. The Skills Standards Development Workshop hosted by the BRICS Skills Standardization Working Committee and the Belt&Road and BRICS International Alliance for Skills Development was successfully held from March 30 to April 1, 2024. 5. On August 4-5, 2023, the first standard-setting workshop has been successfully held and has been well received by the workshop participants, and subsequent standardization training will be carried out on a continuous basis in accordance with the demand for expansion of standardization work and the demand for courses by staff engaged in standardization. 6. In June 2024, the kickoff meetings for developing competition standards, skill standards, and curriculum standards in additive manufacturing, drone operations, industrial design technology, and augmented and virtual reality were successfully held. 7. On July 4, 2024, The 1st working meeting of the standards working group for the BRICS Organization Standards of ""Robotic Process Automation"" competitions, skills and curricula was successfully held. 8. In May 2024, the BRICS Group Standards Information Platform is launched to publish relevant work on standardization.
