The market for intercity transportation or to remote sites hardly uses air transportation due to the high cost of transportation by VTOL aircraft (helicopters or helicopter-type drones) with a payload of over 100 kg. The WASP-500 tiltrotor aircraft with a payload of 300 kg will reduce the cost of transportation by almost 10 times due to its unique propulsion system using a tip jet driven rotor.

Comparison of WASP-500 with a helicopter-type drone with a similar takeoff weight of 500 kg: 1) Payload 300 kg versus 150 kg. 2) Flight speed 470 km/h versus 160 km/h. 3) Flight hour cost is 30% better due to lower maintenance costs. As a result, the direct cost of transporting 200 kg of cargo over a distance of 1000 km is more than 8 times cheaper.
