COFFEE RESURRECT
While coffee is one of the most popularly consumed beverages on the planet - consumers often do not realize that coffee-related waste has a severe impact on both the earth and its atmosphere. On a global scale, more than 9 billion kilograms of coffee are consumed annually, resulting in 99% of the spent coffee grounds being treated as waste. The bulk of this waste is sent to landfills, where it decomposes and releases methane—a greenhouse gas that is 86 times more harmful to the environment than CO2. The environmental repercussions of decomposing 1 ton of coffee waste each year are equivalent to the emissions produced by 10 million cars. The main agricultural and industrial residues from coffee production include spent coffee grounds (SCG), coffee silver skin (CS), coffee pulp (CP), and coffee husk (CH). The coffee processing industry generates substantial agricultural waste, constituting 30 to 50 percent of the total coffee weight produced. This agricultural waste occupies significant land space, decaying over several months and contaminating the area until it is eventually incinerated by farmers, causing further environmental harm. Additionally, industrial residues and by-products from roasting and preparation processes constitute major urban waste challenges. We utilize sustainable industrial biotechnology to convert coffee waste in Africa into all-natural ingredients for personal care, food, and beverages. Our inaugural offerings include an award-winning, eco-friendly, active, and multifunctional coffee oil, flour, and fiber, all derived from recycled coffee grounds. At COFFEE RESURRECT, we prevent these materials from ending up in landfills through collecting this optimal raw material from our industry partners and small-scale coffee growers. We then convert them into flour, fiber, and oil using a proprietary, environmentally friendly process. This innovation recycles and then upcycle what was previously regarded as waste into nutrient-dense food ingredients, versatile personal care and cosmetic ingredients. In contrast, most products on the market are obtained from green or roasted beans, which end the coffee lifecycle and create significant waste each year. For every ton of spent coffee ground upcycled, we avert the emissions of 340m3 of methane into the atmosphere. As a result, we've become a significant player in the circular economy, using coffee by-products to promote a more sustainable future for all.
Climate And Environmental Technologies
Technologies for the healthy environment
In our three-year existence, we have garnered international recognition. Currently in the research and development stage with small-scale production in progress, COFFEE RESURRECT aims to launch its ingredients— COFFEE OIL [CROIL], COFFEE FLOUR [CRFLOUR], and COFFEE FIBER [CRFIBER] derived from first-class Ethiopian arabica used coffee grounds in Ethiopia and operate Africa's first pilot coffee biorefinery by early 2025. In order to do that, we are in due diligence and expect investors will come from a mix of Africa, Russia, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Europe. We are looking to raise seed round $5.6 million in equity, which able us to expand into Kenya and South Africa.
As Coffee is widely recognized as one of the most valuable primary commodities in global trade and plays a vital role in our culture. It is cultivated in approximately 80 countries and stands as one of the most beloved beverages worldwide, ranking as the second most traded commodity after petroleum. We already have a flexible strategic plan and roadmap, which helps us prioritize, adopt, and simply iterate when it’s needed. In ongoing pan- African geographical expansion, Kenya & South Africa are under our radar, not only for sourcing a large amount of raw material we need but also to increase our production capabilities and our impact.

Rosted coffee beans are ground to powder and used to brew coffee when coffee is prepared by a slight compression of the coffee powder and passing through a small amount of hot water. Our R&D has shown that after the quick espresso brew of powder 7 grams, the spent coffee ground [SCG] still contains many unextracted compounds such as oil (9‐16%), polyphenol (9‐10%), and caffeine (0.8‐1%). Our ingredients extracted from SCG have a pleasant smell and taste and are rich in antioxidants. User testing indicated that the texture of ingredients is superior when compared with green coffee sourced. Our trade secret and patent are under the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
