Contaminated Plastic Packaging Recycling without using water and without waste generation
35 billion plastic bottles of lubricating oil are discarded every year. 1 billion plastic bottles of lubricating oil are discarded every year only in Brazil. And what is worse, the oil containing in 1 bottle is enough to contaminate 2 thousand liters of water. Of all this volume, only 9% is recycled, because our competitors decontaminate these packages using water, which creates two major problems: First, even using detergents,it is not possible to remove all the oil from plastic, generating a low quality recycled raw material, decreasing its value. Second, this water has to be treated, and during the process, each liter of oil turns into up to 8 pounds of hazardous waste, generating a high cost and environmental risk. With this in mind, we developed an innovative and efficient production system, composed of equipment and processes with a granted patent, which completely separates the oil from the ground plastic and the label, in an ecological way: without using any water, without generating waste, and with a cost of 30% less than the water process We buy the packaging from environmental companies that collect it from gas stations and workshops, carry out our process, recovering and seling the oil, eliminating the environmental risk. We also produce a recycled plastic raw material of excellent quality, that is sold to the packaging industry, which manufactures a new oil packaging with 10% cost reduction, creating a true circular economy. We have already processed 10 million oil packages, recovering and selling 500 tons of recycled plastic and 17 thousand liters of recovered oil, generating a social and environmental benefits, such as 17 billion liters of water preserved in the environment and 800 tons less of gases effects. That made this solution recognized through 35 relevant national and international awards, participated in international events and became a B Best Company in the World 2022 for the socio-environmental value generated and a prominent member of the United Nations Global Compact.

We have developed a disruptive, unprecedented, and patented production technology (granted patent letter for innovation in process and equipment) to recycle lubricating oil contaminated plastic packaging and other types of contaminated plastic packaging, without a single drop of water and without generating any other waste, in operation in São Paulo - Brazil and recognized worldwide for the economic, financial and socio-environmental value generated through 35 awards, including Global Compact UN, Inter-American Development Bank, FEMSA, World Intellectual Property Organization, World Economic Forum, B Corps, World Bank, Bloomberg, Energy Globe, with 2 major differentials: 1. After being drained, the packages still carry an average of 3% of residual oil, when these packages are washed with water in conventional recycling, each liter of this oil is transformed in the treatment into 8 kg of hazardous waste that must be properly disposed of. In this way, we eliminate costs and environmental risk from the recycling process, while delivering socio-environmental impact benefits through the process and the recycled raw material. There are no similar processes, our competitors would be companies that wash with water, but in addition to these processes, they do not deliver high quality resin, they do not recover the oil and generate more waste with environmental risk Our process is better because generates environmental, economic and social value. There is no use of water, no residues, no contaminated effluent generated (today 80% the effluents is released to the Environment with no type of treatment),and in addition, it recovers all the contaminant oil that becomes a byproduct, with an efficient recycling that allows the valuation of the plastic that becomes a packaging again. And because of this valuation we can pay a higher value for the waste pickers. The absence of waste disposal costs of our process, together with the quality of the resin produced, allow us to pay more for the material collected, making the collection attractive and enabling the scalability of the process.
