Maritime decarbonization in Port of Itaqui in the state of Maranhão - Brazil. Nowadays, some kind of business can decarbonize and still create value it can be possible through environmental sustainability solutions. There are an increasing demand in international maritime trade in which companies are being required by consumers and legislators to reduce carbon emissions in their operations.
Our solution is to create a Research Center in Decarbonization for BRICS in the state of Maranhão (BR) to support the newest entrepreneurs and startups in the area that can develop alternative technologies and process to be apllied in international maritime trade as Green Shipping Corridors, Zero Emission Areas and even more fields of New Economy.

The Research Center could be headed by Russia government and focuses in multiple economic solutons for BRICS as deep decarbonization of ports, accelerator and incubator for new startups, nuclear propulsion studies for merchant ships, solutions in conjuction with energy storage and smart charging solutions, low-carbon solutions as biofuel to shipping industry, offshore oil and gas studies mapping the future of oil industry for BRICS agencies with a brazilian scientific view and modelling new business models in maritime trade with low enviromental impact for BRICS. It goes through The Brazilian Alliance for Port Decarbonization which is an initiative that assembles several ports and maritime entities in Brazil with the aim of collaborating and implementing actions to reduce carbon emissions and promote environmental sustainability in the port sector.
