Intelligent Manufacturing
In the face of ever-changing market dynamics, HUL has led the industry by developing a sturdy value chain. This includes over 25 factories producing more than 2000 stock-keeping units (SKUs), distributed through 30+ warehouses, and generating over 70 billion units annually. The vision for HUL Supply Chain is “Powering HUL to win with Next-Gen Capabilities. Therefore, we are accelerating digital transformation across our end-to-end supply chain through below pillars: 1. Superior Availability:. Our Machine Learning based Cognitive Decision Intelligence tool provides recommendations for Production, Distribution & Norms Planning. We are digitizing our distribution centres by moving away from paper-based operations to handheld terminal-based operations. This facilitates in reducing our lead time to delivery. 2. Superior Value:. Leveraging digital technologies, we have established a real-time production optimization system, minimized waste and maximizing asset utilization. Furthermore, a centralized Manufacturing Control Tower facilitates the seamless replication of best practices across all factories, achieving superior overall efficiency. 3. Superior Product. We harnessed the power of Digital Voice of Consumer to Automate data mining through Large Language Modelling and categorize consumer feedback efficiently to create real-time insights that help in delivering superior products that align with consumer expectations. 4. Superior Care for people & planet: We source 96% of operational energy from renewables and utilize over 100 electric vehicles for last-mile delivery, minimizing our environmental footprint. Our digital interventions manufacturing resulted in improved statistical process capability for each product portfolio. These solutions also make our manufacturing facilities cleaner and greener by predicting optimal run parameters for various fuels while maximizing Boiler efficiency. We have delivered exceptional results through our path breaking journey so far. To make our Supply Chain more intelligent, collaborative, and resilient to manage supply chain disruptions we are now developing an industry first capability in form of Supply Chain Nerve Center. This will act as an enterprise brain to drive faster decision making, providing end to end visibility, and achieving global optima over local optima.
