Problem : Lives lost due to uncontrolled bleeding in Trauma cases. Tens of thousands of lives are lost every year due to excessive blood loss in cases of road accidents, gunshots etc. Solution: We have developed a hemostatic bandage which can stop bleeding faster. It uses a patented molecule Chloro-Chitosan as active ingredient. Animal trials are currently underway.

Description of competitive advantages
Our molecule is more polar than chitosan and therefore does not need acids to form aqueous solution, thus its forms hydrogel when it comes in contact with water from blood. The platelets have negative charge on their surface, the electrostatic interaction between the platelets and Chloro-Chitosan orients the platelets thus hastening the natural cascading of clotting to commence.
