AUTOMATIC ELECTRIC POWER REGULATION DEVICES (AEPRD)

Energy is one of the basic human needs. The Ethiopian government works extensively on hydropower generation. More than 35% of the generated energy is wasted due to a lack of technology in delivering it to the consumer. Most industries in Ethiopia have problems with proper energy use. There is a lack of awareness on the part of the customer that they will be charged for reactive power and pay a penalty for the low power factor. This technology reduces wasted reactive power and provides voltage balancing and harmonic filtering. Automatic Electric Power Regulation Devices (AEPRD) is an innovative technology that improves energy use efficiency through technological innovation by using the software design printing circuit board (PCB) and the programming language in C language for machine controlling the devices.

Hybrid PEMFC-based power source for stand-alone power supply systems

Currently, there are a number of undecided tasks related to the integration of fuel cells (FC) into consumer power supply systems, which limit the scope of application of FC and their efficiency. These include operational limitations related to the polarization characteristic, low rate of chemical reactions, low mobility under dynamically changing loads, reduced efficiency and service life. Therefore, an actual task is to develop scientific and technical solutions to improve the efficiency of energy systems with hydrogen FC and their integration into stand-alone power supply systems. The most promising type of hydrogen FC are proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC). The problem of dynamic changes in power and peak load coverage occurs when using a PEMFC as the only power source. Such operating modes negatively impact the resource of PEMFC and the technical and economic characteristics of the system. To solve this problem, it is proposed to use several PEMFC together with batteries as part of a hybrid power system (HPS). HPS should connect various types of fuel and energy sources, energy storages and consumers. The HPS control system should adapt to the consumer's load curve and the parameters of the HPS elements. Besides, when using several FC together as part of one energy system (multistack), it is necessary to solve the problem of choosing the optimal load of each FC. The solution to the problem is the development of adaptive HPS energy management systems. The control system must provide adaptation of settings to external factors and degradation processes of FC.

IkaFlotation complex: foam analysis of flotation plants

Problem description The flotation process is a key stage in the mining and processing industry, where effective separation of minerals from waste rock is required. However, traditional methods of monitoring and managing flotation systems often suffer from a lack of accuracy and efficiency. This leads to inefficient use of reagents, loss of valuable material and increased processing costs. Companies face problems related to insufficient visibility of processes, which makes it difficult to make operational decisions and optimize the operation of equipment to reduce costs and improve the efficiency of production indicators. The implemented IkaFlotation solution is an author's system that integrates its own software to solve key problems in the flotation process. The system provides real-time monitoring, giving recommendations and allowing operators to quickly respond to changes to optimize the process. Equipped with a machine vision module, IkaFlotation analyzes images of the foam surface, providing accurate data on the height, bubble structure, density and stability of the foam. The use of modern image processing algorithms makes it possible to isolate individual foam elements and measure their parameters, which deepens the understanding of the state of the flotation process. In addition, the IkaFlotation complex analyzes the collected data and provides recommendations for optimizing the flotation process, including adjustments in the supply of reagents and changes in process parameters. This leads to a significant increase in the productivity of flotation systems due to more efficient use of process components and lower reagent costs. As a result, the implementation of IkaFlotation becomes a reliable and cost-effective tool for managing the flotation process, which increases its efficiency and increases the profitability of the enterprise.

There are certain ventilation standards for public and administrative buildings all over the world. This is due to the fact that the air condition in the room directly affects the health of the people in it. The main requirements for air quality and ventilation system are prescribed in the joint venture. All designers are guided by them when calculating and selecting equipment. There are certain requirements for indoor air quality for different types of buildings. This became especially important during the pandemic, when mandatory ventilation was introduced into the rules for the prevention and treatment of coronavirus. There is a reason why doctors insist on the circulation of fresh air in any room and its cleaning. Systematic oxygen deficiency adversely affects physical health, mental capabilities, and psycho-emotional state. With the standard solution method, there is a significant energy consumption for heating the air in winter. This entails significant costs. The equipment developed by us helps to solve these tasks in a complex. Supply and exhaust systems are technically sophisticated equipment that combine advanced technologies, namely: modern high-efficiency heat exchangers, innovative software, highly efficient electric motors with an integrated frequency converter, with the issue of heat and sound insulation solved and their own design developments. The software allows you to safely operate the equipment both locally and remotely from anywhere in the world. Control algorithms make it possible to achieve energy efficiency in combination with the fulfillment of the required parameters of a comfortable climate. The intuitive interface makes it easy to control the equipment and get information for the user. A flexible management system solves any assigned tasks. Our equipment is manufactured and delivered to facilities using modern technologies, providing significant savings in energy consumption and reducing thermal energy emissions, which meets the modern needs of world countries fighting global warming, and it is also suitable for the Green City program. During operation of the ventilation equipment, mechanical supply of fresh and exhaust air is used. Often, separate ventilation systems (supply and exhaust units) are used. To prevent freezing and increase efficiency, recuperators with a special coating are used in supply and exhaust installations of a modern type. The removed air from the room gives heat to the supply air, without mixing the flows, reducing the amount of release of unused thermal energy back into the atmosphere. Thus, the units solve the most important task - saving electrical and thermal energy. The efficiency of the units is up to 70%.

Intelligent early warning program for heatstroke

As global warming intensifies, many regions are experiencing high temperatures, leading to a surge in heat stroke cases. In 2022, the average number of heat wave days per capita in China reached 21 days, setting a new historical record. Deaths related to heat waves also broke records, more than doubling the number from 2021. High temperatures caused a loss of 2.3 hours per day in safe outdoor exercise time per capita. The health risks are significant and growing much faster than expected. Compared to the historical baseline (1986-2005), in 2022, the number of population exposure events to drought increased by 906% year-on-year, heat wave-related deaths increased by 342%, and the number of population exposure events to annual average extreme precipitation increased by 129%. In this context, anyone can become a vulnerable group. In addition to traditional heat stroke vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children, and pregnant women, healthy young and middle-aged adults who engage in strenuous activities in high-temperature environments (such as outdoor athletes, construction workers, and delivery personnel) are also at risk. In 2023 alone, there were 2,300 death certificates in the United States that mentioned the impact of high temperatures.
